As a member of the BAFTA Film Committee, Nainita has chaired the UK film committee's selection process for the UK's entry for Best International Feature Oscar award. The chosen film is My Father's Shadow, the debut feature from Akinola Davies Jr, about two young brothers exploring Lagos with their estranged father for one day during the 1993 Nigerian election crises.
